Kiwi: The new Wi-Fi 7 SOM solution from 8Devices
Kiwi is based on the powerful IPQ-9570 network processor from Qualcomm, which is equipped with four Cortex-A73 cores @ 2.2 GHz (1 MB L2 cache). The module has 4 GB eMMC flash and 1 GB LPDDR4X RAM (with expansion option to 2 GB).
Wireless communication is provided by the brand new QCN-9274 Wi-Fi 7 radio chip from Qualcomm, which is connected via PCIe and supports all three frequency bands (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz). Thanks to the four integrated antennas, Dual Band Simultaneous (DBS) operation is possible on 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz or 2.4 GHz & 6 GHz with two antennas simultaneously - this means 2 x MU-MIMO 2x2.
Kiwi also offers two PHY-MAC interfaces with USXGMII, each supporting one 1/2.5/5/10GE Ethernet PHY and four additional 2.5G Ethernet PHYs via USXGMII-M. Numerous interfaces are also available, including PCIe 3.0 (single lane), 2 x PCIe 3.0 (dual lane), USB 3.0 and various other serial interfaces and GPIOs.
