At the end of June, Cynergy was approached by one of Denmarks very early movers within electronic manufacturing services, Hennodahl A/S in Herning. We had much earlier been involved with support on their Siplace equipment, but more recently, it had been very quiet until we were contacted for spares for their placement line from 1997, but which was still in production. Through discussion, we quickly arrived at the fact that time had left these once great machines behind, and we started to look at production simulations and other benefits of replacing them. As certain products involved 01005 and microBGA components, it was vital to provide something which could include the processes and accuracy needed to run these boards without any issues or excessive component losses. Our recommendation for a scaleable and very capable solution fell on the Hanwha SM482plus placement system with intelligent feeders and offline programming, the very capable ESE E2 printer system with ecoSA stencil cleaning for effective fine pitch and 01005 aperture cleaning, and a relatively compact 4 zone /two cool zone Folungwin oven, with pin chain and meshbelt transport for series and ad hoc soldering.

Just two months after starting to look at the feasibility of this solution, the equipment is now on the floor in the factory and Hennodahl are looking forward to a much easier workday and a very rapid return on investment.
